ZULU TATTOO KICKS OFF HOLIDAY SEASON WITH DECEMBER THIRD BENEFIT FOR AID FOR AIDS
Leading Body Artist, Zulu, Launches Calendar Featuring Clients’ Tattoos at Red Carpet Event with All Proceeds to Benefit Aid for AIDS

LOS ANGELES, CA, Nov. 25/Luthier Public Relations/ -- Zulu Tattoo is launching its inaugural calendar featuring 12 clients and their body art, photographed by 12 local photographers, at a red carpet event in Silver Lake on December 3, 2008.  All proceeds from calendar sales and the event will benefit Aid for AIDS.  The event will be held at Medusa, 3211 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, and limited to 200 invited guests.

“We are fortunate to be at a place in our lives and the life of Zulu Tattoo where we can give back to the local community,” commented Khani Zulu, “We are proud to support Aid for AIDS with our inaugural calendar and this event.”  The calendar has been produced as an objet d’art and features twelve stunning photographs of Zulu’s clients modeling their sacred marks. All of the photographers are local and volunteered their time and resources in support of the project.

Mitch Durette, manager of Medusa, which is hosting the red carpet launch party, is also a Zulu client and Mr. February in the calendar.  “It’s an honor to wear a Zulu tattoo and to be a part of this effort in support of such a worthy group in our community,” he said.  All of the calendar’s models will be at the December 3, party as well as a gallery showing of work from each of the photographers, some of which will be available for purchase.

The partnership between Zulu Tattoo and Aid for AIDS has special meaning for Zulu who explained, “Many years ago, I worked in a shop where I was not allowed to tattoo a client who was HIV positive.  I left that job and committed myself to always providing an open environment that welcomes all people who want to draw out their sacred marks.  It is very gratifying for me to be able to give back in this way and to continue to support the people of our world who live with HIV and AIDS every day.”

Terry Goddard, Executive Director of Aid for AIDS, summed it up, “This is a fantastic event and we are grateful to Zulu Tattoo, the models, photographers, and Medusa for all they are doing on behalf of our organization,” he continued, “Funds raised will enable AFA to continue its work to prevent homelessness and hunger for women, men and children with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County.”

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Medusa, from 7 PM – 10 PM.  Press time for red carpet is 6 PM.  For more information please visit www.zulutattoo.com.
